The electricity saving potential in the Turkish manufacturing industry has been modeled in the average 40% band in research; However, most of this potential is “invisible because it is not measured” losses: lines running empty during the night shift, compressors with low load factor, unregulated air conditioning and reactive penalty. The first step in energy management is not the meter, but the correct measurement architecture.

Why 15 minutes of data?

In OIZs, the Automatic Meter Reading System (OSOS) generally produces a 15-minute consumption profile by reading meters remotely. The monthly bill total tells the history; The 15-minute profile approaches the “when, which line” question. Peak demand, demand penalty and anomaly detection are possible at this resolution.

Reactive energy and hidden costs

Inductive/capacitive reactive power originates from transformer and motor loads. When the limits are exceeded, a reactive penalty is added to the invoice; many properties only realize this after the invoice has been issued. OSOS and quality power analyzers monitor the reactive ratio in real time, providing data for compensation and load planning.

Carbon emissions through energy use

Scope 2 emissions are calculated by purchased electricity (kWh) × emissions factor. If the measurement error is 5%, your carbon report will also deviate by 5% — this tolerance is not accepted in CBAM and customer audits. Consistent measurement should be the “single source of truth” of carbon accounting.
