What is a reactive penalty?
A reactive charge on the bill when inductive or capacitive reactive energy exceeds the regulatory ratio to active energy in the period. Excess kVArh times the current reactive unit price.
Who is exempt?
Subscribers with contract power ≤ 9 kW or installed capacity ≤ 15 kW are treated as exempt. If either threshold is met, the calculator skips inductive and capacitive penalty.
What is the inductive vs capacitive limit difference?
Inductive reactive (Ri) comes from motors/transformers; capacitive (Rc) from over-compensation or capacitive loads. Below 30 kW contract and 50 kW installed: inductive 33%, capacitive 20%; at/above either threshold: 20%/15%. Each side is calculated separately.
Where is the reactive unit price found?
On the distribution invoice reactive line or tariff table (TRY/kVArh). Entering it yields an estimated penalty; leaving it blank shows only excess kVArh.
How do 30 kW contract and 50 kW installed work together?
Narrow limits (20%/15%) apply if contract ≥ 30 kW or installed ≥ 50 kW. If either threshold is crossed, narrow limits apply; otherwise wide limits (33%/20%). Use the official invoice limit line for critical decisions.
